You will also need to sure the alkalinity level is on point. You are looking for a measurement of somewhere between 80-120ppm. To achieve the right alkalinity levels, there are products such as Alkalinity Plus you can use.
Keeping Things Clean
You need your water to be chemically balanced, but you also want it to be clean. The chemical that comes in handy here is chlorine. Adding chlorine to your water will kill off any bacteria or organisms and will also keep water from turning cloudy.
For best results, use chlorine in tandem with mineral sanitizers. If you’re unable to get your hands on chlorine, a chemical called bromine can be used as an alternative.
